#134 6/26/19 Baby Shoes Two

Duplicate, cough, duplicate.  But hey, rote, it's a way to learn.  Baby shoe fever going on.....I still like to peek in on the first baby shoe painting.  Therefore, I decided we'd have a second little one.  And you know, once you've got two, the novelty kind of wears off.  I had three children, so perhaps I'll paint the baby shoes a third time, but accidentally (just kidding Paul!)  The laces, ahh-gain, were excruciating.  When will I learn to find cute shoes with velcro?  No, no.....I love the worn leather, the brown soles, the shape of the high tops, the shape of the toe, they fulfill my inmost desire for a great, yet simple subject.  Except for the dang laces!  I learned my lesson on the previous painting's background, go easy with the phthalo...and I ended up with a nice denim blue background.  Most of the "realism" of these shoes occurred with the addition of teeny tiny bits of raw umber placed ever-so carefully to bring about a nook or a cranny.  Is this second baby as beloved as the first?  Mothers love all their babies equally.  What a terrible question! Though.....I just don't feel the need to peek in on this one as much...not sure why, perhaps because I struggled less to get it to the same place?
