Another painting from my week at the lake....another painting of Batman. He's just so paintable! He's perched on the back of the couch, looking rather indifferent to the idea of me taking his picture. While I usually discard background items, I kept the potted plant in the painting. I'm not convinced it was the best move, but it's done now. You'll notice I've included two pictures of the painting here. After I considered it "done", I put it on the mantel to dry. From the kitchen I would look at it and think, "something's not right". Finally, I decided it was the interior of his ears - they were as bright white as his paws. So I took the painting back, and dulled-down his ear-fur. (As I look at the photo now, I would also add a bit of lilac - there's purple in them there ears, which I didn't notice before.) It wasn't much of a change, but I'm glad I "fixed" it while it was still a fresh painting. I will let you guess which painting is the before, and which is the after.
